A gorgeous paddle up the Dovey Estuary with Harvey and Rob.

After a quick trip into toen, I was back at the beach by 10am and Harvey Rob and myself set off up the estuary. We were a bit pusjed for time with the tides on the way up to Glandyfi, so pused on straight across the estuary taking the shortest route and then wound our way past the flocks of Canada Geese on the slat-flats of Ynyshir and ever onwards towards Glandyfi. We stopped at Glandyfi for lunch right next to Harveys sailing boat and watched the tide turn. we also saw a mink scampering about on log about 100yds from us.

Harvey had paddled all the way in a small kayak and had been putting in twice as much effort as me and Rob. Rob was in a fairly big sea-kayak and I was on my masive, efficient Gaisford Racing ski. Harvey was also a little cramped in the boat as the footrests were set-up wrongly for him. He adjusted a few things before setting off, and then we took a leisurely trip back downstream with the tides. It was a little shallow over some of the sandbanks in places, but we managed it. We stopped off at 'Harveys Mega Camping Spot' for a while and had a little explore, before setting off again hugging the coastline on the Aberdovey side of the estuary.

We then pulled into the beach at Aberdovey and had a quick pint at 'The Pen' where we bumped into Harvey's parents.

We then set of again weaving our way in and out of the boats and along the beach of Aberdovey, before heading off acros the estuary and up through the channel to Ynyslas. We'd spent about 6 hours on the water altogether and I had a nice leisurely paddle in really nice surroundings.
